Harte Ware von ARTURA

ARTURIA scheint sich allmählich abseits vom eigentlichen Kerngeschäft mit virtuellen Klangerzeugern ein immer größer werdenes zweites Standbein mit der Produktion von ordentlicher Musik-Hardware anzulegen. Für das zweite Quartal 2015 werden wieder zwei neue Gerätschaften erwartet. Zum bereits seit einiger Zeit angekündigten, bisher aber nur recht nebulös umschriebenem ersten Audio-Interface der Firma gibt es nun endlich handfeste Fakten.

Das zum stolzen Preis von 549,- Euro als AUDIOFUSE angekündigte Edelteilchen mit USB-Anschluss soll sich große Konnektivität auszeichnen und beinhaltet neben dem eigentlichen Audio-Interface auch noch gleich eine komplette Monitoring-Abteilung samt Talkback-Funktion. Wem die insgesamt vier Eingänge nicht reichen sollten, der kann diese dank ADAT-Anschluss mit externem Equipment erweitern. Lediglich der von mir anfänglich einmal vermutete Thunderbolt-Anschluss ist auf der Strecke geblieben (Wurde ein solcher nicht damals bei ARTURIAs erster öffentlicher Ankündigung ins Spiel geworfen, oder täusche ich mich in diesem Punkt…?).

Hier ein paar Bilder und Details des Herstellers, die Übersetzung ins Deutsche habe ich mir dabei einmal gespart:

1. Inserts

5. USB hub
3-port USB hub to connect your master keyboard, USB stick or dongle.

6. USB connection
Connect AudioFuse to your computer, tablet or phone. Most features will be available even with only the USB power supplied by a computer.

7. Phono/Line inputs 3&4
Connect external phono or line devices to these RCA+ground and balanced 1/4” inputs.

8. Speaker outputs A&B
Connect two pairs of speakers to these balanced 1/4” outputs for easy A/B monitoring.

9. Input control sections 1&2
Direct access to each feature of analog inputs 1&2: input gain with vu-metering, true 48V, phase invert, -20dB pad and instrument mode.

10. Output control section
Direct access to each of the analog output features: output level with vu-metering, audio mix selection, mono mode, output dimming, mute, and Speaker A/B selection.

11. Direct monitoring
Enjoy zero latency monitoring of the recorded signals and blend them into your mix.

12. Phones control sections 1&2
Direct access to each of the features of Phones 1&2 outputs: output level, mono mode and audio mix selection.

13. Talkback
Press a button to give directions to your talent who is in a booth or another room: use the talkback feature with the built-in microphone.

14. Input channels 1&2
Connect microphones, instruments or line devices to the 2 XLR/balanced 1/4” combo inputs.

15. Phones output channels 1&2
Don’t bother looking for a 1/4” or 1/8” phones adapter; AudioFuse has both connectors for each phones output.

Des Weiteren hat der von uns bereits getestete und für gut befundene BeatStep einen großen Bruder bekommen, den BeatStep PRO. Dieser mit einer UVP von 249,- Euro versehene Step-Sequencer/MIDI-Controller beherbergt nun gleich drei Step-Sequencer. Während zwei davon für monophone Sequenzen zuständig sind und neben bis zu 64 Schritten nun endlich auch die schrittweise Steuerung von Anschlagsdynamik und Gatezeit beherrschen, erlaubt der Dritte im Bunde die Drum-Programmierung im Stil der TR-x0x-Maschinen auf bis zu 16 Spuren (Da scheint man bei ARTURIA wohl einige Ideen vom ZAQ AUDIO ZAQUENCER „adaptiert“ zu haben…). Neben berührungsempfindlichen Bedienelementen und einem Touch-Strip gibt es auch gleich eine ganze Batterie an CV/Gate-Anschlüssen (die sind auf auf der Rückseite) sowie nun auch einen richtigen MIDI-In (nicht nur über USB wie beim kleinen Bruder).
