iZotope Neutron, Geheimwaffe für den Mix?

Nachdem die edel Audio Schmiede iZotope erst vor kurzem wieder für Aufsehen gesorgt hat als sie ein kostenloses Audio Plugin namens Neutronio, welches es ermöglichen soll mittels „Spectral Shaping“ den Instrumenten im Mix mehr Freiraum zu verschaffen, kommt nun der nächste Schritt, die große Version NEUTRON bringt eine komplette Suite an Werkzeugen, die allesamt mit der Spectral Shaping Technologie arbeiten.

Angeboten wird NEUTRON in drei Varianten, die normale Variante beinhaltet alle Module, wie Equalizer, Kompressor, Exiter, Transient Shaper und Limiter und kostet 199,- Dollar, die Advanced Variante bietet zusätzlich jedes dieser Module als eigenständiges Plugin an und bietet volle Surround 7.1 Unterstützung, die dritte Variante beinhaltet so ziemlich alles, was iZotope bisher auf den Markt gebracht hat, unter anderem Neutron Advanced, die Mastering Suite Ozone 7 Advanced, den VocalSynth, die Vocal Production Suite Nectar 2 Production Suite, Trash 2 Expanded, die Audio Restaurationswerkzeuge RX Plug-in Pack und das Metering Plugin Insight. Für mich ist die dritte Variante das Music Production Bundle ein absoluter Knaller, denn für die komplette Sammlung werden aktuell gerade einmal 499,- Dollar fällig, alleine Neutron advanced schlägt mit 299,- Dollar zu Buche, alle Produkte die im Music Production Bundle 2 enthalten sind haben einen Wert von 2000,- Dollar.

Zurück zu iZotope`s NEUTRON

Das speziell auf Mixing Bedürfnisse ausgelegte Produkt ist in der Lage Instrumente im Mix so zu platzieren, dass es keine oder fast keine Frequenzüberschneidungen mehr gibt, dazu gibt es in NEUTRON auch einen Erkennungsmodus, der bei Auswahl mehrerer Spuren anzeigt, wo sich Frequenzen überschneiden. Ein Beispiel die Kickdrum klingt kernig und hat auch alleine ordentlich Wums, kommt nun der Bass dazu verschwindet die Kickdrum fast, nun gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten wir setzen einen Kompressor ein, der über ein Sidechainsignal so angesteuert wird, das er den Bass immer dann herunterregelt, wenn die Kickdrum erklingt oder Variante Nummer zwei wir setzen den Equalizer ein und beschneiden die Frequenz der Bassspur genau dort wo die Kickdrum frequenzmässig vertreten ist, das hat aber den Nachteil das wir dem Bass so ziemlich das gesamte Fundament entreißen. NEUTRON verspricht hier Abhilfe durch Verwendung der Spectral Shaping Technik, hier wird nicht der gesamte Ton bearbeitet, sondern nur Anteile, die für das jeweilige Instrument sinnvoll sind. NEUTRON erkennt nach einer Analyse der jeweiligen Spur, um was für ein Instrument es sich handelt, (ich schreibe hier Instrumente, selbstverständlich gehören aber auch Vocals dazu).
