MorphWiz für Apples iPad, ist die Revolution der Musikproduktion noch zu bremsen?

Nachdem ich mir die Videos der von Jordan Rudess entwickelten iPad Synthesizer und Performance App MorphWiz angesehen habe, bin ich überzeugt davon das die Produktion von Musik vor einer Revolution steht.

Statt einer gewöhnlichen Tastatur bietet MorpWiz eher eine Matrix auf der Töne gezielt perkussiv gespielt werden können aber auch gezogen werden können ähnlich wie beim Teremin das 1919 in Russland erfunden wurde aber deutlich schwerer erlernbar ist und auch klanglich etwas andere Wege geht wie das hier vorgestellte MorphWiz.

Inspiriert wurde Jordan Rudess zur Entwicklung von MorphWiz allerdings nicht vom Teremin, sondern vom Continuum Fingerboard das als Midi Kontroller komplett neue Wege beschreibt, leider bewegt sich das Continuum Fingerboard mit Preisen bis zu 5290,- $ für die Komplettversion und 3390,- $ für die Halfsize Version aber in einer Preisklasse die für die meisten nicht so einfach zu meistern ist.

Zurück zum MorphWiz über das es einiges an Lob im Netz zu lesen gibt, beim Anschauen der Videos bekomme ich direkt Lust dazu selbst zu experimentieren.

Leider habe ich immer noch kein iPad aber das dürfte wohl nur noch eine Frage der Zeit sein, was mir beim iPad fehlt, ist eine FireWire oder eine USB 2.0 Schnittstelle, es gibt zwar Tricks, wie ein Audiointerface über kleine Umwege an das iPad anschließbar ist, ich halte aber nichts von möglichen Problemen die aus Notlösungen entstehen und später viel Zeit kosten könnten.

Vielleicht wartet ja Apple auch nur auf den Durchbruch der USB 3.0 Technik und stattet das iPad dann mit USB 3.0 aus, warten wir es ab, den meisten Käufern scheint die fehlende Kontaktbereitschaft des iPad leider eh nicht zu interessieren, das Teil geht ja weg wie warme Semmeln.

Bedingt durch den Multi Touchscreen des Apple iPad bieten sich uns Musikern und Musikproduzenten enorme neue Möglichkeiten, ob wir das iPad als Musikinstrument einsetzen oder als Studio Kontroller, ist nur noch abhängig von der installierten App und diese sind auch preislich so angesiedelt das es nicht unbedingt weh tut, wenn das Verlangen juckt….
